Youth programs hope to nurture lifelong hunters

For years, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources had seen the handwriting on the wall; it had to do more to attract first-time hunters or watch hunting license revenue tumble.

The motive was to get kids off the couch, away from shooting at video targets and into the woods and fields to hunt wild game.
