What Would You Do for a Beer?

Saturday, May 19th, 2007 | Posted in News of the Weird | 1 Comment »

The unfortunate fellow in this photo is Mamand Mamandy, a Kurd who was caught drinking beer during a visit to Iran.

The Iranian police arrested Mamand and lashed him 130 times.

Mamandy after 130 lashes

Mamand is now safely back in Norway, where there is plenty of great beer to drink.

Muslim Mouse

MEMRI has an eerie video clip of a Mickey Mouse like character on Al-Aqsa TV.

The character, named Farfour, looks like Mickey Mouse, but he sounds very differently from the friendly mouse with which you are familiar.

This is what the character has to say to the children:

Host Saraa, a young girl: Sanabel, what will you do for the sake of the Al-Aqsa Mosque? How will you sacrifice your soul for the sake of Al-Aqsa? What will you do?

Sanabel, young girl on phone: I will shoot.

Farfour, a Mickey Mouse character in a tuxedo: Sanabel, what should we do if we want to liberate…

Sanable: We want to fight.

Farfour: We got that. What else?

Saraa: We want to…

Sanabel: We will annihilate the Jews.

Saraa: We are defending Al-Aqsa with our souls and our blood, aren’t we, Sanabel?

Sanabel: I will commit martyrdom.

[…]

Farfour: We’ve said more than once that becoming masters of the world requires the following: First, to be happy with our Arabic language, which once upon a time ruled this world.

Saraa: Of course.

Farfour: Second… or maybe that’s it?

Adult host: Farfour, I heard you talking in English.

Farfour: Yes. How are you, Saraa? I hope to be good time.

Saraa: What’s with you, Farfour? Why are talking this way? Didn’t we agree to talk in literary Arabic?

Farfour: But Saraa, this is the language of the advanced world, the language of the world that understands and invents things, isn’t it?

Saraa: No, Farfour, you are wrong, because you don’t know that the Muslims are the basis of civilization. If not for the Muslims, the world wouldn’t have got to where it is today.

[…]

Farfour: My dear youngsters, we’re back. We always miss seeing you on your weekly program “The Pioneers of Tomorrow,” in which we are placing together the cornerstone for the ruling of the world by an Islamic leadership.

When Helping Isn’t Helping

FoxNews reported recently that the Gates Foundation donated $7.1M for Gulf Coast Housing.

This sounded  great.  Bill has made a lot of money, and it is enheartening to see Bill give some of it back to his customers when they are in need.

But then there is the fine print.  Bill didn’t actually give any money for Gulf Coast housing.  Bill gave $7.1M to Oxfam, who will give the money to lobbyists, who will then spend the money on crooked politicians who will in turn take your tax dollars and give them to Gulf Coast  residents.

For those not familiar with OxFam, it is a radical socialist group which opposes free-market economic growth all over the globe.

Instead of Bill’s money being spent to help people, it is being spent to lobby for organized theft.  Way to go Bill!  :(

Barry Goldwater on Islamic Terrorism

Friday, May 4th, 2007 | Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

The following is an excerpt from Barry Goldwater’s world-changing book, The Conscience of a Conservative.

In this excerpt, I have taken the liberty of replacing each reference to the Communist threat with a reference to the Islamist threat.

This plan, which Barry Goldwater laid out in 1960, was used by Ronald Reagan in the 1980’s to lead us to victory over the Soviet empire.

Barry’s timeless wisdom shows us both the path to victory and the steps which we must take in order to follow that path.

Our Goal Must Be Victory

1. The key guidepost is the Objective, and we must never lose sight of it. It is not to wage a struggle against Islamic terrorism, but to win it.

2. Our strategy must be primarily offensive in nature. Given the dynamic, revolutionary character of the enemy’s challenge, we cannot win merely by trying to hold our own. In addition to guarding our frontiers, we must try to puncture his. In addition to keeping the free world free, we must try to make the Islamic world free. To these ends, we must always try to engage the enemy at times and places, and with weapons, of our own choosing.

3. We must strive to achieve and maintain military superiority. Mere parity will not do. Since we can never match the Islamists in manpower, our equipment and weapons must more than offset his advantage in numbers. We must also develop a limited war capacity. For the latter purpose, we should make every effort to achieve decisive superiority in small, clean nuclear weapons.

4. We must make America economically strong. We have already seen why economic energy must be released from government strangulation if individual freedom is to survive. Economic emancipation is equally imperative if the nation is to survive. America’s maximum economic power will be forged, not under bureaucratic direction, but in freedom.

5. In all of our dealings with foreign nations, we must behave like a great power. Our national posture must reflect strength and confidence and purpose, as well as good will. We need not be bellicose, but neither should we encourage others to believe that American rights can be violated with impunity. We must protect American nationals and American property and American honor - everywhere. We may not make foreign people live us - no nation has ever succeeded in that - but we can make them respect us. And respect is the stuff of which enduring friendships and firm alliances are made.

6. We should adopt a discriminating foreign aid policy. American aid should be furnished only to friendly, anti-terrorist nations that are willing to join with us in the struggle for freedom. Moreover, our aid should take the form of loans or technical assistance, not gifts. And we should insist, moreover, that such nations contribute their fair share to the common cause.

7. We should declare the world Islamist movement an outlaw in the community of civilized nations. Accordingly, we should withdraw diplomatic recognition from all Islamist governments, thereby serving notice on the world tat we regard such governments as neither legitimate nor permanent.

8. We should encourage the captive peoples to revolt against their Islamist rulers. This policy must be pursued with caution and prudence, as we as courage. For while our enslaved friends must be told that we are anxious to help them, we should discourage premature uprisings that have no chance of success. The freedom fighters must understand that the time and place and method of such uprisings will be dictated by the needs of an overall world strategy. To this end we should establish close liaison with underground leaders in the Islamic world, furnishing them with printing presses, radios, weapons, instructors: the paraphernalia of a full-fledged Resistance.

9. We should encourage friendly peoples that have the means and desire to do so the undertake offensive operations for the recovery of their homelands. For example, should a revolt occur inside Iran, we should encourage and support guerrilla operations in Iran by the free Iranians. Should the situation develop favorably, we should encourage the Iraqi’s to join free Iranian forces in a combined effort to liberate the enslaved peoples of Asia.

This is hard counsel. But it is hard, I think, not for what it says, but for saying it openly. Such a policy involves the risk of war? Of course; but any policy, short of surrender, does that. Any policy that successfully frustrates the Islamist’s aim of world domination runs the risks that the Islamists will choose to lose in a kamikaze-finish. It is hard counsel because it frankly acknowledges that war may be the price of freedom, and thus intrudes on our national complacency. But is it really so hard when it goes on to search for the most likely means of safeguarding both our lives and our freedom? Is it so hard when we think of the risks that were taken to create our country? - risk on which our ancestors openly and proudly staked their “lives, fortunes, and sacred honor.” Will we do less to save our country?

The risks I speak of are risks on our terms, instead of on Islamist terms. We, not they, would select a time and place for a test of wills. We, not they would have the opportunity to bring maximum strength to bear on that test. They, not we, would have to decide between fighting for limited objectives under unfavorable circumstances, or backing down. And these are immense advantages.

The future, as I see it, will unfold along one of two paths. Either the Islamists will retain the offensive; will lay down one challenge after another; will invite us in local crisis after local crisis to choose between all-out war and limited retreat; and will force us, ultimately, to surrender or accept war under the most disadvantageous circumstances. Or we will summon the will and the means for taking the initiative, and wage a war of attrition against them - and hope, therefore, to bring about the internal disintegration of the Islamist governments. On course runs the risk of war, and leads, in any case, to probably defeat. The other runs the risk of war, and holds forth the promise of victory. For Americans who cherish their lives, but their freedom more, the choice cannot be difficult.

Most Americans hope that their children grow up to be happy and healthy.

Obviously this is not a universal dream.

Seven Brave Democrats, or possibly just Six?

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007 | Posted in Politics | No Comments »

A group of brave Democratic Congressional Representatives crossed party lines today to support the defense of Western civilization against the onslaught of Islamist violence.

The Democrats who crossed the line were:

  • John Barrow (GA)
  • Dan Boren (OK)
  • Lincoln Davis (TN)
  • Jim Marshall (GA)
  • Jim Matheson (UT)
  • Michael McNulty (NY)
  • Gene Taylor (MS)

These men voted to sustain the veto of HR 1591, which would have called for our surrender in Iraq and the abandonment of our Iraqi allies to almost certain subjugation at the bloody hands of Al Qaeda and the Iranians.

When the Democratic Party is finally destoyed by it’s radical and irresponsible left wing, these are the men who will put it back together again.

All of these representatives except McNulty are also members of the Blue Dog Coalition, a group of 43 conservative and moderate Democrats.

Mike McNulty’s vote is unexplainable. Evaluating his voting record as a whole, it appears that he may have been sleeping when this vote was cast and accidentally said the wrong thing when his name was called!

McNulty’s record in Congress consists mainly of misappropriating taxpayer funds for pork barrel projects in his own district and engaging in petty partisan politics. This is definitely a strange vote from Mr. McNulty.

Nancy Pelosi’s First 100 Days

This is a damning look at how the Democrats spent their first 100 days in power. It was made by the National Republican Congressional Committee, but it is unusually good for a party-funded work.

Kill all the Jews… and their friends

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007 | Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

The Jerusalem Post has a shocking writeup on a Friday speech by Sheik Ahmad Bahr, acting Speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council. The speech was delivered in Sudan and appears to be another example of the global nature of Islamist violence.

Here are some excerpts from the speech:

‘You will be victorious’ on the face of this planet. You are the masters of the world on the face of this planet. Yes, [the Koran says that] ‘you will be victorious,’ but only ‘if you are believers.’ Allah willing, ‘you will be victorious,’ while America and Israel will be annihilated. I guarantee you that the power of belief and faith is greater than the power of America and Israel. They are cowards who are eager for life, while we are eager for death for the sake of Allah. That is why America’s nose was rubbed in the mud in Iraq, in Afghanistan, in Somalia, and everywhere.

Oh Allah, vanquish the Jews and their supporters. Oh Allah, count their numbers, and kill them all, down to the very last one. Oh Allah, show them a day of darkness. Oh Allah, who sent down His Book, the mover of the clouds, who defeated the enemies of the Prophet, defeat the Jews and the Americans, and bring us victory over them.

These are the murdering bastards that the Democratic presidential candidates blame George Bush for not making peace with.

More than anything, this just proves that we cannot trust the Democratic Party with American foreign policy.
