The French Hate the French?

Sunday, April 29th, 2007 | Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

The International Herald Tribune and France 24 TV station conducted a joint poll in six countries to determine how many people have a negative view of the French.

Unsurprisingly, 38% of Americans don’t like the French. What is surprising is that 44% of French people don’t like the French.

Apparently familiarity does breed contempt!

The French are now engaged in a national election to choose a new leader. The two candidates are a socialist mother with no foreign policy experience and a seasoned conservative (by French standards) politician.

Now the French must make a decision which will either restore their national pride or doom them to continue down the path of economic and cultural ruin.

Reuters reported this event as “Palestinians attend a demonstration against violence in Gaza.”

Do these pictures say “demonstration against violence” to you?

The Success of Surrender

Thursday, April 26th, 2007 | Posted in Politics | No Comments »

Great Britain has been tightening it’s anti-gun laws for several decades now, while at the same time relaxing prosecution and sentencing for violent offenders.

The mandantory minimum sentence for carrying a gun illegally is five years, while murders are routinely sentenced to prison for much shorter terms.

To further exacerbate their problems, the British government has aggressively prosecuted private citizens for defending themselves or other citizens against criminals.

Where have these policies led Great Britain?  The Times Online now  reports that British parents are purchasing stab-proof and bullet-proof vests for their children.

Yes, British criminals are now so unafraid of the law that they attack children at will — and law-abiding British subjects are so defenseless that all they can do it wear body armor to lessen the blows.

This is the success of surrender — the surrender of the rights of individual citizens to government and the surrender of civilized society to criminals.

Ford Commercial

This commercial has apparently been around for quite some time, but this is the first I’ve seen it. It’s a real tear-jerker about a soldier returning home from overseas.

Taiwan 1; China 0

Tuesday, April 24th, 2007 | Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Taiwain 1; China 0 — at least that’s the way the simulation turned out.

The Taiwanese military has published the results of a computer simulation which show the Taiwanese successfully repelling an invasion by the Communist Chinese.

The Taiwanese forsee the Chinese ferrying ground troops from the mainland to the island, while being attacked by the Taiwanese Navy and Air Force.  The Chinese are also expected to engage in air strikes and missile attacks.

During this time, the Taiwanese military defends their terrority and also attacks supporting targets on the mainland.

The end result, according to the simulation, is a loss of the beachhead initially held by Red Chinese ground forces.

The Communists have the advantage in the quantity of fighter aircraft.  The free Taiwanese partially offset this advantage with qualitative superiority in terms of both aircraft and pilot training.

The Communist Chinese have a good coastal submarine fleet.  Taiwan is defended with anti-submarine equipment which is badly in need of a technical refresh.

The Taiwanese simulation counts on no help from the Americans in defending the freedom of their people.  With the current anti-war sentiment in America, that appears to be a safe assumption.

From Hollywood to Ramadi

Pat Dollard is a Hollywood agent who decided to see the war in Iraq up close and personal, so he got himself embedded as a journalist with the Marines in Ramadi.

Pat’s learned a lot during his time in Ramadi, including what it feels like to be blown up and how shrapnel in your legs can really hurt.

Pat’s blog says “Prepare to have your opinion of this war changed forever.”  It’s definitely a good read for those who want more truth about this war than you will ever find from scumbags like Harry Reid.

A good starting point on the blog is Pat’s interview in Maxim.

Granny Got Her Gun

Venus Ramey, Miss America 1944, is in the spotlight again — this time for doing her part to ensure the safety and security of her fellow Americans.

Venus, now age 82, surprised an intruder on her farm in Kentucky.  When the thief tried to make a run for it, she shot out the tires of his car with her snub-nosed .38.   She held the criminal at gunpoint until the police arrived.

What makes this story special isn’t that Mrs. Ramey defended herself.  She could have done that merely by letting the criminal get away.  Instead, Mrs. Ramey stood up and defended us all by stopping the criminal and making certain that he faced justice.

Mrs. Ramey had to balance on her walker to fire her .38.  If it weren’t for that handgun, no one knows what would have happened to her at the hands of the lawless, miles from the nearest police officer.

Venus Ramey should be a role model for all Americans.

If you are not already familiar with Iraq the Model, you really are missing out.

The blog is written by Omar and Mohammed Fadhil, two Iraqi brothers.

The Fadhil brothers are intensely patriotic and are working hard, both online and offline, to make their country a better place.

Any nation would benefit from citizens as intelligent and civic minded as the brothers Fadhil.

You Do Not Have a Glandular Condition — You Have a Discipline Deficiency

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007 | Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

A few weeks ago, my wife overheard a rather hefty lady excuse her weighty condition with the phrase “I have a glandular condition.” When my wife told me the story, my immediate response was “Yeah, with your salivary glands.”

The story British Scientists Identify Obesity Gene made a big splash in the news recently. The fine print said “One in six people has the most vulnerable genetic make-up and weighs an average 3 kilograms more than those with the lowest risk.” Yes, the difference that this “fat gene” makes is 3 kilos (6.6 pounds). This finding will be used by more overweight individuals to avoid personal responsibilty for their conditions.

This is ridiculous, of course, as people who are a mere 6.6lbs overweight normally do not see themselves as being overweight at all. It’s the people who are 40+ pounds overweight who would benefit most from taking responsibility for their own health issues.

The first step to recovery is admitting that you have a problem. If people continue to deny responsibility for their health problems, they will never invest time and energy into creating and implementing solutions for healthier living.

Some Good News in the Race Wars

Friday, April 13th, 2007 | Posted in Uncategorized | 1 Comment »

This may have seemed like a bad week in the race wars, the Don Imus showing the entire country what a jackass he is — only to be upstaged by Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, two of the most prominent racists in the nation.

But, there really is good news in the race wars this week — both in the short term and the long term.

In the short term, the baseless prosecution against the Duke Lacrosse players was dropped. Those boys were only being charged because they were white and their accuser was black. This was obvious to everyone, but it took a long time for someone to do something about it.

That is small news, however, compared to some good data that was published by Stanford University sociologist Michael Rosenfeld. Rosenfeld calculates that more than seven percent of the nation’s 59 million married couples were interracial in 2005, compared to less than two percent in 1970.

What will happen to racists like Don Imus, Al Sharpton, and Jesse Jackson when we’re all one big race — Americans? What will happen to racist government programs like affirmative action and school busing? What will people put down on the school enrollment forms and firearm purchase forms when they don’t fit any of the governments racial categories?

When this trend finally runs its course, there will be no more talk of race. We will become a race known as Americans, a race made up of people of all colors but with one idea — the idea that people can live together in peace and freedom.
